Reade Griffith is a founding partner and Chief Investment Officer of Polygon.
He was previously the founder and CEO of the European office of Citadel Investment Group, a multi-strategy hedge fund that he joined in 1998. He was a partner and Senior Managing Director responsible for running the global event driven arbitrage team in Tokyo, London and Chicago. Before Citadel, he was with Baker, Nye, where he was an analyst working on a $1bn arbitrage and special situations portfolio. Reade holds a JD from Harvard Law School and an undergraduate degree in Economics from Harvard College. He also served as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps and left as a Captain following the Gulf War. Reade is based in the London office.
Paddy Dear is a founding partner of Polygon, where he manages firm-wide risk.
He was previously the Managing Director and Global Head of Hedge Fund Coverage for UBS Warburg. He was responsible for the delivery of all the bank’s products and services to hedge funds.
Prior to this, Paddy was co-head of European sales trading, execution, arbitrage sales and flow derivatives. He had been with UBS since 1988, including six years in New York. Prior to UBS, he was in equity sales at Prudential Bache and a petroleum engineer with Marathon Oil Co. Paddy received a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Imperial College in London.
At Polygon, his responsibilities include firm-wide risk management as well as the non-trading activities of the company, relationships with counterparties, and new business development. He is based in the London office.
